Cold snap

Cold snap is used in two ways to describe climate:

  • in geology, a period of intensely cold and dry weather, often occurring during an Ice Age.
  • an unseasonally cold period in spring. This may also be called a blackberry winter as it may coincide with the time when the blackberries bloom. It may also be called a dogwood winter.

Other uses of the phrase include:

  • Cold Snap (album), the first full-length album released by the Weeping Tile.
  • Coldsnap, an expansion set for the trading card game Magic: The Gathering.
